Anderlecht secure Morocco striker Tawfik Bentayeb on deal running to 2030
Anderlecht have completed the signing of Morocco striker Tawfik Bentayeb from Union Touarga Sportif in one of the headline moves of the summer transfer market.
The Belgian club confirmed the arrival on Friday, announcing that Bentayeb had agreed a long-term contract running until 2030. The deal for the 22-year-old is worth €4.5m, including possible bonuses, according to French outlet Maxifoot.

Bentayeb, who was born in Casablanca in January 2004, will now begin his third European club experience after two successful spells in France’s second tier. He chose Anderlecht despite receiving financially more lucrative proposals, reports in France said, opting instead for the Belgian club’s sporting project.
The forward began his professional career with Union Touarga Sportif in 2022. He subsequently moved to France, where he spent time on loan with Rodez and then Troyes.
His performances reached a new level during the 2025-26 campaign. Bentayeb played a key role in Troyes’ promotion to Ligue 1 and finished as the leading scorer in Ligue 2.
He scored 20 goals and provided three assists in 31 appearances across all competitions, including 18 goals in the league. That form established him as one of the most notable young Moroccan attacking players in the transfer market.
Anderlecht have moved quickly to secure a player whose recent progress attracted interest beyond Belgium. The club’s decision to commit to Bentayeb until 2030 underlines its confidence in his potential, while the reported structure of the transfer includes performance-related payments.
Despite his influential season with Troyes, Bentayeb was not given the opportunity to represent Morocco at the 2026 World Cup. He was included only in the expanded squad and has made one senior international appearance.
That cap came in a friendly against Burundi, which Morocco won 5-0. Bentayeb will now continue his development at Anderlecht, where he is expected to add further European experience after his time in the French second division.
The move gives Anderlecht a young attacking option with a proven record in front of goal and marks the latest step in Bentayeb’s rise from Union Touarga Sportif to the Belgian top flight.
