Anderlecht have made an official offer for Nigerian midfielder Anthony Dennis following his standout campaign with Turkish side Göztepe.
The 20-year-old, who has caught the attention of several European clubs with his performances in the Süper Lig, is reportedly the subject of a €3.5 million bid from the Belgian giants.
According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Anderlecht are leading the race to secure the services of the promising midfielder, though interest in the player continues to build across the continent.
Dennis has enjoyed a breakthrough season in Turkey, where his combination of physicality, tactical awareness, and consistency in the heart of midfield has made him a key figure for Göztepe.
His rise has not gone unnoticed, particularly by clubs known for nurturing young talent, such as Anderlecht.
Despite the mounting interest, Göztepe remain in a strong position regarding the player’s future. Dennis is under contract with the Izmir-based club until June 2027, giving them little immediate pressure to sell unless a favourable offer arrives.
The current proposal from Anderlecht is seen as an opening bid, and it is expected that negotiations could follow should the Turkish club seek a higher valuation.
A youth international for Nigeria, Dennis has earned a reputation as a composed and versatile midfielder capable of dictating play and breaking up opposition attacks.
His maturity on the ball and ability to cover ground efficiently have made him one of the more intriguing young prospects emerging from the Turkish top flight in recent months.
While no deal has yet been agreed, Anderlecht’s approach signals their intent to strengthen their midfield options ahead of the new season.
The Belgian side, with a history of developing young talent and providing a platform for progression into top-tier European leagues, could represent a logical next step in Dennis’s career.
Sources close to the player suggest that Dennis is open to a move, provided that the conditions are right for his continued development.
However, Göztepe are under no obligation to accept the first bid on the table and are likely to wait to assess other offers as interest grows.
With the transfer window still in its early stages, the coming weeks may prove crucial in determining Dennis’s next destination.
Clubs across Europe, particularly those in France, Germany, and the Netherlands, are said to be monitoring the situation closely, which could lead to a bidding war if Anderlecht’s initial offer fails to convince.
For now, Anthony Dennis remains a Göztepe player, but with growing interest and a formal bid already submitted, a move this summer is increasingly likely.
Whether Anderlecht can win the race remains to be seen, but their early action puts them firmly at the front of the queue for one of Nigeria’s most promising young talents.
