Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has provided a fitness update on Brazilian forward Vinícius Jr. ahead of the team’s Champions League clash against Atalanta on matchday six.
Speaking during his pre-match press conference, Ancelotti confirmed that Vinícius is making progress but added that a final decision on his availability will be made after training. “Vinícius is fine.
We’ll see what happens in training, and the same for Rodrygo. After training, we’ll make a decision,” he explained.
Ancelotti also highlighted the importance of Jude Bellingham in Real Madrid’s attacking setup, emphasizing the English midfielder’s growing influence.
The Italian noted that Bellingham performs better with greater freedom in advanced positions. “He plays better offensively with more freedom, and he takes advantage of it.
This has nothing to do with a change in behavior on the field, because Bellingham continues to contribute positively,” Ancelotti said, acknowledging the player’s dual impact on both ends of the pitch.
The press conference concluded on a lighter note when Ancelotti addressed a question about French superstar Kylian Mbappé. The coach joked about the consistent media focus on the player.
“Maybe this would have been the first press conference without talking about Mbappé, but here he is. He is starting to have good dynamics in the matches.
He will be very important for us tomorrow,” Ancelotti quipped, eliciting laughter from the room.
Real Madrid will face Atalanta looking to solidify their position in the Champions League and continue their strong run of form in Europe.
As fans await the final lineup decisions, the updates on key players like Vinícius and Bellingham offer a glimpse into Ancelotti’s strategy for the crucial match.
