Amine Harit, a player for French football club Olympique Marseille, has attributed his recent decline in performance to several factors, including his participation in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
In an interview with the French football website “Foot Mercato,” the Moroccan national team player explained that he was feeling good before traveling to Ivory Coast.
Harit emphasized that amidst attempts to adapt and limited playing time, he lost his rhythm.
He added, “This is not an excuse, but when I returned to Marseille, I felt less prepared.
I felt a drop in quality in the last 4 or 5 matches, but I felt improvement in the last two games.”
He pointed out that AFCON contributed to interrupting his usual performance level, confirming that he endured a challenging period of up to 7 months due to injury.
“I knew I would need time to return to the form I had in the past, but AFCON stopped me somewhat.
I was fine before it,” he stated.
