American striker of Nigerian descent, Folarin Balogun, has been ruled out of AS Monaco’s final game in the French Ligue 1 against RC Lens this weekend.
AS Monaco manager Adi Hutter has confirmed ahead of the game.
Balogun, 23, missed Monaco’s crucial 2-0 win over Olympique Lyonnais on Saturday after picking up an ankle injury during the final training session ahead of the match.
The victory secured a top-three Ligue 1 finish for AS Monaco and guaranteed their return to the UEFA Champions League for the 2025/26 football season.
Folarin Balogun had only just returned from a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to a dislocated shoulder. His absence against Lyon raised concerns, especially as the club initially confirmed the ankle injury without disclosing its severity.
Today, it has been confirmed that due to the injury, Balogun will miss the final game of the season in the French Ligue 1 against RC Lens.
With qualification to the UEFA Champions League already secured by Monaco, the striker’s absence should not cause any significant damage.
