Amadou Haidara is being strongly linked with a move from RB Leipzig to Ligue 1 side Lens, with the probability of a transfer currently rated at 83% according to data from Transfermarkt.
The 27-year-old central midfielder, capped by Mali and valued at €6.00m, is the subject of growing speculation over his future in the Bundesliga, with reports suggesting Lens are exploring a deal that could see him leave Leipzig, potentially even as a free agent depending on how his contract situation develops. No agreement has been confirmed and no contract terms have been disclosed.
Haidara’s market value has dropped sharply in recent months, from €12m to €6m as of 19 December 2025, a trajectory that may make him a more attainable target for Lens as they look to reinforce their midfield options from the German top flight. Leipzig, meanwhile, face a decision over whether to cash in or risk losing him without a fee if his deal runs down.
Born in Bamako on 31 January 1998, Haidara came through the JMG Academy Bamako before moving to Europe with Red Bull Salzburg in 2016, including a spell at FC Liefering in Austria’s second tier. His performances in the Austrian Bundesliga helped earn a switch to Leipzig in January 2019, where he has operated primarily as a central midfielder and is comfortable on his right foot.
