Alou Doumbia targets championship glory with Chemal FC
Alou Doumbia has signed a one-year renewable contract with Chemal FC, marking his return to professional football in Mauritania. The 25-year-old defender, previously trained at Djoliba AC and having played for ASKO (Association Sportive de Korofina), expressed his enthusiasm about joining the elite club in a recent interview with Africafoot.
Doumbia, who has also represented Burkina Faso at the junior level, is eager to make a significant impact at his new club.
“I am very happy to sign with Chemal FC for a renewable year. It is a pleasure to come here to Mauritania to play with this team in the first professional division,” Doumbia stated.
His move to Chemal FC follows a stint where he caught the eye of scouts, including interest from Lechia Gdansk.
Focused on his immediate goal of winning titles with Chemal FC, Doumbia emphasized his commitment to contributing to the club’s success.
“My goal is none other than to become champion. Chemal FC and I want to be champions. This is my idea and the main goal of the club.
I am happy with this idea,” he declared. Doumbia is optimistic about achieving this ambition with the support of his new teammates and the club’s recent recruits.
Doumbia’s contract with Chemal FC was facilitated by a personal connection. A friend forwarded his performance videos to the club’s technical director, which led to an invitation for a trial period.
Following a successful trial, Doumbia was offered a professional contract with the potential for renewal. “It was a friend who sent my videos to the technical director of Chemal FC.
So, he contacted me. We came for a test of a few weeks, after which I was retained by the club,” Doumbia explained.
As Doumbia embarks on this new chapter with Chemal FC, he remains focused on his professional development and achieving the club’s championship aspirations.
His dedication and previous experience are expected to contribute significantly to Chemal FC’s ambitions in the Mauritanian top flight.
