Aliou Dieng’s agent breaks silence as Valencia interest in Al Ahly midfield star intensifies
Speculation surrounding the future of Aliou Dieng has intensified in recent days, with reports linking the Al Ahly SC midfielder to a potential move to Spanish side Valencia CF during the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Malian international has been the subject of growing transfer rumours, with several reports suggesting that negotiations between the player and the La Liga club had stalled. Those claims fueled uncertainty about whether the highly rated midfielder would leave the Cairo giants.
However, Dieng’s agent has dismissed those reports, insisting that discussions with Valencia are still ongoing.
Speaking in an interview with Mega FM radio, the player’s representative, Khaled Maghrabi, clarified the situation and insisted that the Spanish media had not accurately reflected the status of the talks.
“Valencia’s negotiations with the player are still ongoing, and the Spanish press is not being accurate,” Maghrabi explained.
“What has been reported about Valencia’s negotiations with Dieng stopping is not true.”
He further revealed that the transfer process has not yet reached the stage of medical examinations, but did not rule out the possibility of the midfielder making the switch to Spain in the near future.
“The player has not yet undergone a medical examination for Valencia, and it is possible that he will move to the Spanish club next summer,” he added.
Despite the growing European interest, Maghrabi confirmed that discussions over a potential contract renewal with Al Ahly are also continuing, emphasizing the strong relationship between the player’s camp and the Egyptian club.
“The player’s renewal negotiations with Al Ahly are still ongoing, and we have a strong relationship with the club. Our relationship with Al Ahly is excellent,” he said.
Maghrabi also made it clear that Dieng remains loyal to the Egyptian champions, stressing that if the midfielder continues playing in Egypt, it will only be with Al Ahly. However, he admitted that the player’s main ambition remains a move to Europe.
“Dieng will only play in Egypt for Al Ahly, but the player’s priority is European professionalism,” he stated.
Since joining the Cairo-based giants, Dieng has developed into one of the most influential midfielders in the squad, delivering consistent performances that have attracted the attention of several European clubs.
With interest from Valencia continuing to gather momentum, the coming months could prove decisive in determining whether the Malian star remains at Al Ahly or takes the next step in his career in European football.
