Tunisian veteran Ali Maaloul played a major role in Mohamed Ali Ben Ramadan’s decision to join Egyptian giants Al Ahly from Hungarian side Ferencváros.
Before making his move, Ben Ramadan sought insight from Maaloul, who left a legendary mark at the Cairo-based club. “Maaloul did not spare me advice. He praised the club’s atmosphere and the work within it, and advised me to accept the offer without hesitation. What he achieved in 9 years was an inspiration to me,” Ben Ramadan said.
In a televised interview, Ben Ramadan revealed that no talks had taken place between him and his former club in Tunisia. “I am proud to belong to the begging, it is a big club and has large fans, but there was no negotiations between me and the club’s management to return again.”
“Al-Ahly is the one who initiated the communication, and stuck to the contract with me… I have played against him a lot and I am fully aware of the size and value of his representation.” he added.
With Club World Cup dreams ahead, Bin Ramadan is now focused on bringing success to the Red Devils.
