Ramiz Zerrouki’s future at Feyenoord is in question, with clubs in Spain and France reportedly exploring the possibility of signing the Algerian international following his recent struggle for game time.

Once a regular starter for the Dutch giants, Zerrouki saw his place in the team slip away after an injury sidelined him earlier this year. The 27-year-old was an integral part of Feyenoord’s midfield prior to February, but since recovering and returning to action in April, his role has been significantly reduced.

He has featured in the starting line-up just once since his comeback — in the match against Fortuna Sittard — only to be taken off at half-time.

This lack of playing time has cast doubt over his club future and potentially his standing in the national team setup. With fellow midfielders Hichem Boudaoui and Adem Zorgane putting in impressive performances for Algeria — and Ahmed Kendouci having shown promise before his unfortunate shin injury — Zerrouki may now be considering a move to revive his career and secure more regular minutes on the pitch.

According to a report from Dutch football outlet Voetbal International, interest in Zerrouki has emerged from several European clubs, with La Liga sides monitoring his situation closely.

However, Ligue 1 clubs in France are believed to be even more keen on securing his services, with the level of attention described as “more pronounced.”

Despite the drop in playing time, Zerrouki remains under contract with Feyenoord for another two years, meaning any potential transfer would require negotiations.

His current market value is estimated at €6.5 million, according to Transfermarkt, and that figure may serve as a starting point for any interested club looking to acquire the midfielder this summer.

Zerrouki, who has been capped 41 times by Algeria, may see this transfer window as a crucial opportunity to reposition himself ahead of the upcoming international calendar.

With competition for midfield places in the national squad intensifying, regular club football is likely to play a pivotal role in securing his selection.

Feyenoord, for their part, have yet to indicate whether they are open to offloading the midfielder, but with his diminished role in the second half of the season, a transfer could suit both parties.

Zerrouki is thought to be open to a move that would allow him to play a more central role, particularly in a league where his strengths can be better utilised.

While his time in Rotterdam began with promise and consistent performances, the recent shift in his status may have accelerated interest from clubs abroad.

Whether a move to Spain or France materialises remains to be seen, but what is clear is that Zerrouki is no longer content with a place on the bench.

As the summer transfer window approaches, Zerrouki’s name is one to watch, with suitors from two of Europe’s top leagues circling and the midfielder seeking a platform to reignite both his club and international ambitions.
