Algerian girls’ football team has clinched a place in the third round of the FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup 2024 qualifiers, following their well-deserved qualification on Friday, defeating Benin.
The national under-17 team secured a victory at the 5 July Stadium with a clean sheet, mirroring the same scoreline from the first leg played in Cotonou last Sunday.
Noura Ait El Qadi opened the scoring for the Algerian team in the 64th minute, followed by her teammate Zaza Rebahi adding the second goal in the 74th minute.
The match then proceeded to penalty shootouts, with the Algerian team ultimately prevailing with a score of 8-9, securing their passage to the third and final round of the World Cup qualifiers.
