Aymen Mahious has officially chosen to remain at CR Belouizdad, rejecting a series of offers from both Arab and European clubs in favour of continuing his career with the Algerian side next season.
The 27-year-old Algerian international, who has been in prolific form throughout the campaign, opted for stability and loyalty over a potential move abroad. Following a period of intense negotiations, the club confirmed that Mahious has agreed to a new two-year contract extension.
The agreement reportedly includes a clause allowing him to depart should he attract interest from clubs in one of Europe’s top five leagues.
According to sources close to the club, the negotiations were complex but ultimately successful, ensuring the retention of one of CR Belouizdad’s most valuable assets.
The forward’s commitment is viewed as a major victory for the club, especially in a period where African clubs often struggle to hold onto their top performers amid lucrative offers from abroad.
Mahious’s decision arrives off the back of an outstanding season in which he has played 32 matches across all competitions, netting 22 goals and contributing two assists.
His consistency in front of goal has made him a key figure for Chabab Riadhi Belouizdad, and he finished as the team’s top scorer.
In the domestic league alone, Mahious struck 12 times in just 19 appearances, helping his side remain competitive at the top end of the table.
His performances have not gone unnoticed, earning him recognition as the second-best player in the Algerian Ligue 1 this season, just behind the impressive Adel Boulbina.
Despite growing speculation over a potential move to Europe or the Middle East, the forward has made it clear he still sees value in continuing his development at home.
CR Belouizdad’s management expressed satisfaction with the outcome, emphasising that keeping Mahious is a key part of their long-term sporting strategy.
The new deal also includes a strategic release clause. Should Mahious receive a formal offer from a club in one of Europe’s most prestigious leagues such as England, Spain, Germany, Italy or France, he will be free to consider a move.
This clause acknowledges both the player’s ambitions and the club’s willingness to support his career progression while securing his immediate contribution.
Valued at €900,000 by Transfermarkt, Mahious’s stock continues to rise, and the renewed contract is likely to further increase his appeal in the transfer market.
However, for now, his focus remains on helping CR Belouizdad compete for domestic and continental honours.
For Chabab Riadhi Belouizdad, retaining a player of Mahious’s calibre sends a strong message ahead of the new season. With the striker staying on board, the club gains not just a proven goal-scorer, but also a figurehead around whom their attacking play can be built.
As the new campaign approaches, Mahious will look to build on his momentum, strengthen his reputation, and perhaps attract the attention of the European elite on his own terms and from a position of strength at home.
