The Algerian Football Federation issued a statement on Sunday announcing the death of Wissam Jazar, a player for Wadi Nijm in Algeria, during a youth league match.
Wissam Jazar suffered a severe injury after a violent tackle by a defender from Amal Marouana team, leading to his hospitalization in a coma, and sadly, he passed away on Sunday.
In their statement, the Algerian Football Federation expressed profound sorrow, stating, “With great sadness, Mr. Walid Sadi, President of the Algerian Football Federation, received the news of the death of the player of the Wadi Nijm water star team under the age of 17, the young Wissam Jazar.”

The statement continued, “The President of the Algerian Football Federation, on behalf of himself, the members of the Federal Bureau, and the Algerian football family, extends sincere condolences, expressions of sympathy, and prayers to the family of the deceased, his fans, and the Wadi Nijm water star club.”
“We pray to Allah Almighty to envelop their deceased with His vast mercy and to grant his family and loved ones patience and solace,” it added.
