The Algerian Football Federation (FAF) has brought clarity to the timeline for appointing a new coach. The FAF, which has been actively engaged in the process of selecting the next helmsman to guide the Fennecs, revealed that an ad hoc commission is slated to scrutinize applications for the coveted position starting Monday.
In a press release issued on Sunday, the FAF articulated that this commission is tasked with evaluating the candidacy of Bernard Casoni, former coach of MC Algiers and USM Alger, who is presently the sole publicly declared contender.
The commission, committed to a judicious examination process, aims to deliver its conclusions within a stipulated period not exceeding ten days from the commencement of its review.
While Casoni’s application is under the committee’s microscope, other potential candidacies are anticipated, with speculations swirling around the possible inclusion of Vahid Halilhodzic.
The seasoned Franco-Bosnian coach’s name has persistently surfaced in discussions linked to the role.
Dely Brahim, associated with Halilhodzic, has acknowledged receiving numerous proposals, approximately ten, including those from national teams prematurely eliminated from the ongoing AFCON 2023 in Ivory Coast, which notably includes Algeria, Ghana, and Tunisia.
As the deadline looms, Algerian football enthusiasts eagerly await the unveiling of the chosen tactician who will be entrusted with leading the Fennecs on the field, steering the national team towards future successes.
