Walid Sadi, the president of the Algerian Football Federation, couldn’t hide his delight after Algeria crushed Mozambique 5-1 on Tuesday in their sixth Group 7 World Cup qualifier match.
The resounding win sparked joy and silenced critics, showcasing the team’s grit and flair on the pitch. Sadi, beaming with pride, saw it as a defining moment for the squad’s journey.
“I congratulate the players and the technical staff on this wonderful victory,” Saadi told the media.
“I believe today’s victory is the best response to the doubters, especially since it proves that the national team possesses great potential and is capable of going far in all competitions.
“Despite the victory, we have not yet secured qualification. We still have four matches to play, and we will proceed through these qualifiers, round by round.
“Our fans truly deserved full marks. Even though the match took place during Ramadan, they were on time and attended in large numbers. I believe that a word of thanks does not do them justice.”
