The Algerian Football Federation (FAF) has announced that its specialized committee tasked with studying the nominations for the position of head coach of the national team will convene for its first meeting on Thursday at the FAF headquarters in Dely Ibrahim to select the list of candidates.
The federation’s announcement comes after FAF President, Walid Sadie, oversaw the inauguration of the specialized committee on Monday.
The committee, chaired by national technical director Amer Mansoul, comprises six members.
Among them are Mohamed Maouche, a member of the victorious National Liberation Front selection, Rabah Saadane, former national coach with World Cup participation, Karim Kaced, a CAF advisor and university professor, Amin Guimouz, a CAF advisor and university professor, Fouad Shieha, a CAF advisor and director of training at the federation, and Boualem Laaroum, a CAF advisor and university professor.
The formation of this committee signals a pivotal moment for Algerian football as it seeks to fill the vacancy left by former coach Djamel Belmadi, who stepped down following the team’s exit from the Africa Cup of Nations.
With the responsibility of selecting the next head coach lying with this esteemed committee, Algerian football enthusiasts eagerly await the outcome of Thursday’s meeting.
The decision made will undoubtedly shape the future trajectory of the national team, as Algeria aims to maintain its position as a force to be reckoned with in African football.
