Yasser Larouci unveiled as Le Mans player

Algeria international Yasser Larouci has completed a move to newly promoted Ligue 1 side Le Mans, signing a three-year contract after leaving Troyes.

The 25-year-old defender begins a new chapter in his career after being released by ESTAC Troyes, with Le Mans confirming his arrival as they continue strengthening their squad ahead of their return to France’s top flight.

Larouci’s transfer offers him another opportunity to revive a career that has experienced several changes since his departure from Liverpool.

The Algerian international joins a Le Mans side that has shown a willingness to recruit experienced Algerian players, following the earlier signing of Billal Brahimi during the current transfer window.

After leaving Liverpool, Larouci’s career took him across several clubs in different countries as he searched for stability and regular first-team football.

The left-sided player went on to represent Sheffield United, Watford, Kifisia and Troyes, where he remained under contract before becoming available this summer.

Despite showing promise during the early stages of his professional career, the defender struggled to establish long-term consistency at his previous clubs.

His release by Troyes allowed Le Mans to secure his services without a transfer fee, giving the newly promoted club an experienced option capable of strengthening the left side of the team.

Larouci has agreed to a contract that will keep him at Le Mans for the next three seasons.

The move also reunites the player with French football, where he will aim to rebuild his career by earning regular playing time in Ligue 1.

Le Mans believe the defender’s versatility will be an important asset during the upcoming campaign.

Larouci is capable of operating across the entire left flank, giving head coach Patrick Videira several tactical options in both defensive and attacking situations.

His flexibility is expected to provide valuable depth as the club prepares for the demands of top-flight football following promotion.

The Algeria international has already earned two senior caps for his country and will now hope that consistent performances at club level can strengthen his chances of adding to that tally in the future.

For Le Mans, the signing represents another addition to a squad focused on establishing itself in Ligue 1 after securing promotion.

For Larouci, it marks the beginning of a fresh challenge and an opportunity to rediscover the form that once made him one of the promising young defenders to emerge from Liverpool’s academy.

After spells in England, Greece and France, the Algerian defender now has the chance to write a new chapter with Le Mans as he looks to make a lasting impact in Ligue 1.
