Algeria will learn their group stage opponents for the 2025 FIFA Arab Cup today, as the official draw is set to take place at the Raffles Hotel in Doha at 20:00 local time (18:00 Algerian time).
The North African nation, defending champions from the 2021 edition, are seeded in Pot 1 alongside host nation Qatar, Egypt, and Morocco.
The tournament, scheduled from 1 to 18 December 2025 in Qatar, will feature 16 teams.
Nine teams have secured direct qualification based on the April 2025 FIFA World Rankings: Qatar, Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates.
The remaining seven spots will be filled through a qualifying round involving 14 lower-ranked nations, including Oman, Somalia, Bahrain, Djibouti, Syria, South Sudan, Palestine, Libya, Lebanon, Sudan, Kuwait, Mauritania, Yemen, and the Comoros.
The final tournament will consist of four groups of four teams.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stages, which include quarter-finals, semi-finals, a third-place play-off, and the final.
Algeria, having won the 2021 edition by defeating Tunisia 2-0 after extra time, will aim to defend their title in this upcoming competition.
The draw will determine the composition of the groups, setting the stage for the teams’ paths in the tournament.
With the competition drawing near, teams and fans alike await the outcomes that will shape the initial matchups in Qatar.
