Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Rayan Aït-Nouri has left Algerian training camp to seal a move to Manchester City this summer.
Having left camp, the highly-rated left-back will miss Algeria’s friendly match against Rwanda on Thursday.
With Manchester City agreeing a €40m transfer fee with Wolves, the enterprising defender is set to travel to Paris on Friday to seal his move to the Premier league giants.
Rayan Aït-Nouri will undergo his medical upon his arrival on Friday before putting pen to paper.
The defender began his professional career with French outfit Angers, who are set to receive a significant windfall thanks to a 50% sell-on clause – capped at €11.5m – from his 2020 move to Wolves.
Originally signed on loan, he joined the Premier League side permanently for €11.5m, and has since developed into one of the division’s most exciting full-backs.
The left-back delivered an outstanding performance in the just ended season, attracting a significant interest from clubs including Manchester City, who are close to landing his signature.
In the recently concluded Premier League campaign, the 23-year-old scored four goals and provided seven assists in 37 appearances.
