Algeria star Anis Hadj Moussa emerges as key Sunderland transfer target
Sunderland have reportedly identified Feyenoord’s breakout winger Anis Hadj Moussa as a primary target for the upcoming summer transfer window, as the Black Cats look to bolster their attacking options for another Premier League campaign.
According to reports from La Gazette du Fennec, the Wearsiders are also monitoring Royal Charleroi SC midfielder Yacine Titraoui, but it is the pursuit of Hadj Moussa that has taken center stage in their recruitment plans.
The 24-year-old Algerian international has enjoyed a meteoric rise since joining the Eredivisie giants from Patro Eisden in 2024.
Hadj Moussa has become one of the most productive wide players in Dutch football, amassing an impressive career tally of 22 goals and 11 assists in 76 appearances.
His form this season has been particularly clinical, with the winger contributing 11 goals and six assists across all competitions, performances that have made him one of the most sought-after talents in the European winter and spring markets.
Sunderland’s interest comes at a time of stability for the club, which currently sits 11th in the Premier League table with 40 points.
Head coach Régis Le Bris is understood to be a keen admirer of Hadj Moussa’s directness and technical flair, viewing him as a player who can provide the creative spark needed to push the club toward a European spot next season.
However, securing his signature will not be straightforward; the winger recently extended his contract in Rotterdam until 2030, and the Black Cats face stiff competition from the likes of Chelsea and Marseille.
While the pursuit of Titraoui remains an active secondary objective, Sunderland are prioritizing the deal for Hadj Moussa to get ahead of the summer rush.
The club’s recruitment team has reportedly already held preliminary discussions with Feyenoord and the player’s representatives.
With a crucial home fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion looming this Saturday, the Sunderland hierarchy is keen to demonstrate their ambition by securing high-caliber reinforcements like the Algerian duo to ensure the club continues its upward trajectory in the top flight.
