Algeria prepares record delegation to support Fennecs at 2026 World Cup

Algeria national football team are set to receive significant institutional support during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with the Algerian Football Federation planning to send a large delegation to accompany the national side in the United States.

The team is expected to be based at Rock Chalk Park, where preparations and training will take place during the tournament.

According to the federation’s plans, the players and coaching staff will be joined by a broad group of officials representing different levels of Algerian football administration.

The delegation is set to include representatives from regional football structures, including officials from various wilayas and local leagues.

Coaches involved in women’s football and futsal programmes are also expected to be part of the travelling group, alongside administrative and federal members of the federation.

The initiative reflects Algeria’s intention to ensure strong institutional backing for the national team during one of football’s most prestigious tournaments.

Federation president Walid Sadi is reportedly coordinating the logistical arrangements in collaboration with Air Algérie in order to facilitate the travel and organisation of the delegation.

Such preparations underline the importance attached to Algeria’s return to the global stage.

Large official delegations have become increasingly common during major international competitions, where federations often send representatives from different sectors of the sport to support their national teams.

Algeria has previously been recognised for the size and structure of its delegations at major tournaments, and the approach planned for the 2026 edition follows that same pattern.

The presence of officials from across the football ecosystem is intended to reinforce unity around the national team and highlight the country’s commitment to supporting the Fennecs during their campaign.

As the tournament approaches, the mobilisation reflects a broader effort to ensure that Algeria’s representatives in the United States compete with strong backing both on and off the pitch.
