ALGERIA: NABIL BENTALEB’S FAMILY SAYS YES TO ROUARAOUA
Nabil Bentaleb’s potential inclusion in the Algerian national team is edging closer to reality. Following unsuccessful attempts by the national coach, Algerian Football Federation (FAF) President Mohamed Rouaraoua has taken the initiative to pursue this matter. Rouaraoua recently met with Bentaleb’s family in France to discuss the midfielder’s possible commitment to the Algerian national team.
According to lebuteur.com, Bentaleb’s family, including his parents and brother, responded positively to Rouaraoua’s request. However, they emphasized that the final decision rests with the player himself, who was not present at the meeting.
Bentaleb, who has become a key player for Tottenham Hotspur, is currently focused on club commitments, with an upcoming match against Everton. Although he is motivated by the prospect of playing in the 2014 World Cup, Bentaleb previously expressed a desire to take some time to consider his options. He stated, “It’s flattering, but at the moment I’m focusing on my club. The rest, we’ll see later.”
As of now, it remains uncertain whether Bentaleb will participate in Algeria’s preparation match against Slovakia. The 20-year-old midfielder is reportedly being courted by several national teams, including those of France and England.
