MC Alger delivered a dominant performance on Monday evening, dispatching ES Sétif with a resounding 4-1 victory at the July 5 Stadium, while CR Belouizdad were held to a 1-1 draw away at ASO Chlef in the final fixtures of matchday 26 in the Ligue 1 Mobilis campaign.
The hosts, MC Alger, wasted no time in asserting their dominance.
Bangoura broke the deadlock in the 20th minute, putting Mouloudia in front with a clinical finish.
ES Sétif responded shortly after the interval, leveling the score through Bouchama in the 49th minute, briefly raising hopes for a comeback.
However, the parity was short-lived. MC Alger regrouped quickly and reclaimed control of the game.
Benkhemassa restored their lead in the 68th minute with a well-taken effort.
Just three minutes later, Bangoura netted his second of the night, extending the advantage to 3-1.
Bouras then added a fourth in the 78th minute to seal an emphatic win for the league leaders.
The victory consolidates MC Alger’s position at the top of the Ligue 1 Mobilis standings, taking their tally to 49 points.
Crucially, they also retain a game in hand, strengthening their title credentials.
ES Sétif, meanwhile, find themselves in joint fourth place alongside Paradou AC, both clubs sitting on 38 points.
In the other fixture of the evening, CR Belouizdad were forced to settle for a point in a tightly contested match against ASO Chlef at the Mohamed Boumezrag Stadium.
The visitors struck early through Meziane, who found the net just three minutes into the contest, giving Chabab the perfect start.
ASO Chlef, however, responded with determination and pressed for an equaliser throughout the first half.
Their persistence paid off early in the second period when Bounoua found the back of the net in the 51st minute to restore parity.
Despite both sides creating further opportunities, neither could find a winner in the closing stages.
With the draw, CR Belouizdad remain in third place on 45 points, still in the hunt for the title but now trailing leaders MC Alger by four points.
ASO Chlef, on the other hand, climb to ninth with 33 points, maintaining a comfortable position in mid-table.
As the season enters its decisive phase, the race for the Ligue 1 Mobilis crown continues to heat up, with MC Alger setting the pace and their challengers in pursuit.
