Algeria: MC Alger beat Paradou to extend lead

Rulani Mokwena’s MC Alger continued their impressive run in Ligue 1 with a convincing away win over Paradou, extending their lead at the top of the table.

The defending champions, coming off their largest victory under Mokwena last week, maintained their momentum with a composed performance.

Mohamed Saliou Bangoura, who netted four goals in the previous match, opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 29th minute.

Zakaria Naidji doubled the lead in the 38th minute with a clinical close-range finish, securing all three points for the visitors.

The result puts MC Alger five points clear of second-placed CS Constantine, who were held by Ben Aknoun on Friday.

MC Alger will return to action on Tuesday, hosting USM Khenchela, who suffered a 2-1 defeat to JS Kabylie in their most recent outing.
