Ishak Belfodil, the Parma striker who has previously represented various French youth selections, has decided to play for Algeria. Despite having played for France at the U17, U18, U19, and U20 levels, the 20-year-old forward has accepted the call-up from Algeria. This decision aligns with the strategy of Algeria’s coach, Vahid Halilhodzic, to tap into the pool of dual-national Franco-Algerian players for the national team. Ishak Belfodil is set to make his first appearance for Algeria in the CAN 2013 qualifiers against Libya on September 9.
