Alexandria Union Football Club is set to regain the services of five key players from the first-team squad to utilize them in the upcoming match against Talae El-Geish, scheduled to take place next Wednesday, February 14th, at Alexandria Stadium, in the 12th round of the Egyptian Premier League.
Angolan international Christopher Maboulou, the top scorer for Alexandria Union and last season’s Egyptian Premier League, is expected to arrive in Alexandria within hours to join the team’s collective training starting from tomorrow, Saturday, in preparation for the Talae El-Geish match.
In addition to Maboulou, Alexandria Union will see the return of Ahmed Adel Messi, who has resumed collective training and is expected to participate in the match against El-Geish.
Salifou Moro, the midfielder, has fully recovered and showed satisfactory performance during the recent training sessions.
Islam Abu Salima has also recovered strongly and is ready to participate, alongside the return of Boating, the Ghanaian tank, after serving a suspension due to accumulated yellow cards.
However, it has been confirmed that Ahmed Eid will be absent due to a confirmed hamstring injury, as well as Frank Bekeammy, who has re-injured his hamstring, the same injury he was treating and returned in the match against Ceramica in the League Cup semi-final.
Karim El-Deeb remains on the injury list, undergoing rehabilitation training, with no scheduled return date to team training yet.
Tarek El-Ashri, the team’s head coach, held a meeting with the first-team players today after their return to training following the negative break he gave them.
He began his speech to the players by thanking them for the high spirit shown by the team during the Ceramica match in the League Cup semi-final.
He noted that he observed the players’ unwavering effort on the field, although the result was disappointing for both the fans, who supported the team vigorously, and the management led by Mohamed Mesilhi, the club president, who spares no effort to support the team and ensures that there are no late dues for the players, providing them with their requirements to impose stability and psychological comfort on them.
In preparation for the match against El-Geish, the head coach, addressing the players, said, “What’s past is past, and what’s coming is another thing.
The most important thing is the league matches, and we must consider the League Cup matches as mere preparation matches for the team during the break in preparation for the coming.”
He added, “We will not accept complacency and failure in the upcoming matches.
We have an important match against Talae El-Geish, a match that does not accept any division, and we must reconcile with the fans and reconcile with the club’s board, headed by Mohamed Mesilhi, the club president, and before all of them, reconcile with yourselves and prove that you deserve the best.”
