Alexandre Coeff: SC Delhi consider move for experienced French-Algerian defender

French-Algerian defender Alexandre Coeff, currently without a club, is being linked with a move to Indian Super League side SC Delhi.

The 34-year-old centre-back became available after leaving Valenciennes on 1 July 2026, having spent the second half of the 2024-25 season with the French club. Coeff joined Valenciennes from Kerala Blasters in January 2025 after beginning that campaign in India.

A move to SC Delhi would represent a return to the Indian Super League for Coeff, who made 13 appearances and scored once during his spell with Kerala Blasters. The proposed destination is competing in the Indian top flight, although the rumour does not indicate that an agreement has been reached or that negotiations are at an advanced stage.

Coefff’s career has included spells in France, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Greece and India. He has made 220 appearances in Ligue 2, scoring nine goals and providing nine assists, while also featuring 32 times in Ligue 1.

The defender began his senior career with Lens before joining Udinese in 2013. During his time with the Italian club, he had loan spells at Granada, Mallorca, Mouscron, Gazelec Ajaccio and Brest.

Coefff is currently listed without a club, with SC Delhi the side linked with him as of 13 August 2026.
