Alex Opoku Sarfo: Gornik Zabrze eye move for Aris Limassol midfielder
Gornik Zabrze are considering a move for Ghanaian defensive midfielder Alex Opoku Sarfo, who is currently with Cypriot club Aris Limassol.
The 21-year-old, valued at 1m, has been linked with the Ekstraklasa side as they explore options to strengthen the centre of their midfield. Any deal would involve negotiations with Aris, with no agreement in place.
Opoku Sarfo, a right-footed holding midfielder standing at 1.88m, has seen his reputation rise sharply over the past two years, with his market value increasing from 25,000 in 2022 to its current level.
Born in Accra in October 2004, he moved to Europe with Aris Limassol in 2023 from Ghanaian side Benab Football Club, and has since gained experience in Cyprus and Russia.
Aris initially sent him on loan to fellow Cypriot club AEZ Zakaki for the 2023-24 season before recalling him in June 2024, a spell that coincided with a steady climb in his valuation.
In September 2025 he joined Russian side FC Pari Nizhniy Novgorod on loan, where further performances helped push his value to 1m by March 2026 before he returned to Aris at the end of June.
Opoku Sarfos recent development in different European leagues and his profile as a physically imposing midfield anchor are understood to be central to Gornik Zabrzes interest.
The transfer remains at the rumour stage, with Gornik Zabrze monitoring the situation and Opoku Sarfo under contract at Aris Limassol.
