Alex Moucketou-Moussounda: Gabon defender leaves Aris Limassol to become free agent
Gabon centre-back Alex Moucketou-Moussounda has left Aris Limassol and is now a free agent after his departure from the Cypriot club was confirmed on 6 July 2026.
The 25-year-old defender, who is right-footed and stands at 1.85m, ends a five-year association with Aris, having first joined the Limassol side in August 2021 from AS Bouenguidi in his homeland. No transfer fee is involved in his move away from the Cyprus League club.
Moucketou-Moussoundas exit follows a period in which he spent much of the last two seasons away from Aris on loan. He joined French side SM Caen on loan in January 2025 before returning to Cyprus at the end of the 2024-25 campaign. A further loan spell took him to Israeli club Hapoel Petah Tikva in February 2026, where he remained until he returned to Aris on 30 June 2026.
During his time with Aris Limassol, the Libreville-born defenders market value rose from 300,000 in 2021 to a current valuation of 450,000. That figure has remained stable across his most recent stints with both Aris and Hapoel Petah Tikva, underlining his status as an established senior professional in the European game.
Before moving to Cyprus, Moucketou-Moussounda developed in Gabonese football with AS Mangasport Moanda and AS Bouenguidi, earning his first move abroad at the age of 20. His subsequent loans to France and Israel added experience in different leagues to a career that has been built primarily with Aris.
Moucketou-Moussounda now departs Aris Limassol at 25, available on a free transfer and valued at 450,000.
