Al-Ula strengthen attack with Dutch-Senegalese striker Sylla Sow

Dutch-Senegalese centre-forward Sylla Sow has joined Al-Ula from Abha, completing a move between two Saudi clubs.

The 30-year-old leaves Abha’s Saudi Pro League squad to continue his career with Al-Ula in the Saudi First Division League. The switch was completed on 17 August 2026, with Sow moving directly from one Saudi club to another.

Sow’s arrival gives Al-Ula an experienced centre-forward for their campaign in the second tier of Saudi football. His preferred position is at the head of the attack, where he will now represent a club competing in the Saudi First Division League.

The move also marks a change in division for the Netherlands and Senegal international. He previously played for Abha in the Saudi Pro League, having been part of a club operating in the country’s top-flight competition.

For Abha, Sow’s departure brings an end to his time with the Saudi Pro League side. For Al-Ula, the transfer adds a 30-year-old forward to their squad as they continue their work in the Saudi First Division League.

Sow’s nationality gives him a dual Netherlands and Senegal identity, while his role as a centre-forward defines the position he brings to his new club. His age places him among the more experienced attacking players in the Al-Ula squad.

The transfer is a domestic Saudi move, with both clubs based in the country and competing in its professional league system. It sees Sow remain in Saudi Arabia while taking on a new challenge at Al-Ula.

Sow has now left Abha and completed his move to Al-Ula.
