Al-Riyadh FC, traditionally one of the quieter teams in the Saudi Pro League during transfer periods, is poised to make a significant impact this summer with the imminent signing of four high-profile players. The club, which finished 14th in the last season, has ramped up its recruitment efforts in recent days and is close to finalizing deals for Portuguese midfielder Tozé, Comorian winger Faïz Selemani, Burkinabé striker Mohamed Konaté, and Iraqi international Ibrahim Bayesh.

The most notable of these signings is expected to be Tozé, a 31-year-old attacking midfielder who made a name for himself at Al-Hazm.

Despite his team’s relegation to the second division, Tozé delivered an impressive performance last season, scoring 9 goals and providing 7 assists across 34 matches.

His market value is currently estimated at €3.7 million, according to Transfermarkt, and his arrival is seen as a significant boost for Al-Riyadh’s offensive capabilities.

Another key acquisition for Al-Riyadh is Faïz Selemani, a 30-year-old winger also from Al-Hazm.

Selemani, a Comorian international with 32 caps and 6 goals for his national team, had a solid season in the Saudi Pro League, contributing 7 goals and 4 assists in 26 matches.

With one year remaining on his contract, Selemani is reportedly keen to continue playing in the top tier of Saudi football, rather than dropping down to the second division with Al-Hazm. His current market value stands at €1.8 million.

Al-Riyadh is also set to strengthen its attack with the signing of Burkinabé striker Mohamed Konaté.

The 26-year-old forward, who recently parted ways with Russian club Akhmat Grozny, is available on a free transfer. Konaté had a productive stint in Russia, scoring 11 goals in 29 appearances last season.

His market value is estimated at €3.1 million, and his experience and goal-scoring prowess are expected to add depth to Al-Riyadh’s attacking options.

The final piece of the puzzle for Al-Riyadh is Iraqi international Ibrahim Bayesh. The 24-year-old attacking midfielder has been a regular for the Iraqi national team, earning 40 caps and scoring 6 goals.

Bayesh currently plays for Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya, but with a market value of €550,000 and an exit clause allowing him to explore new opportunities, his move to Saudi Arabia appears imminent.

His versatility and international experience make him a valuable addition to the squad.

These signings signal Al-Riyadh’s determination to strengthen its squad and improve its standing in the Saudi Pro League.

The club’s fans will be eagerly anticipating the official announcements as the team prepares for what promises to be a highly competitive 2024-2025 season.
