Al Nassr set to part ways with Ivorian Champions Fofana and Konan

Despite their standout performances during the recent Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) representing Ivory Coast, Seko Fofana and Ghislain Konan find themselves facing an uncertain future at their club, Al Nassr.

Both players, who showcased their talent and skill on the international stage, have struggled to secure regular playing time at Al Nassr this season, leading to loan spells at other Saudi clubs.

However, their loan stints seem to have marked the end of their tenure with the Knights of Nadj.

According to reports from Al Nassr Zone, the club’s coach, Luis Castro, has made it clear that Fofana and Konan are no longer part of his plans for the upcoming season.

Consequently, Castro has reportedly urged the club’s management to facilitate their sale, signaling the imminent departure of the Ivorian duo.

Fofana, who joined Al Nassr on loan to Al Ettifaq during the winter transfer window, and Konan, loaned to Al Fayeh since last summer, are expected to seek new opportunities elsewhere as their future at Al Nassr appears bleak.

Despite their uncertain club situation, both players have displayed commendable performances during their loan spells. Konan, a 28-year-old left-back, has notably featured in 25 matches in the Saudi Pro League, contributing five assists, while Fofana, a midfielder, has made 29 league appearances between Al Nassr and Al Ettifaq, registering one goal and two assists.

As the season draws to a close, Fofana and Konan face the prospect of bidding farewell to Al Nassr, with their future destinations yet to be determined.

While their departure marks the end of a chapter with the Riyadh club, it opens up new opportunities for the talented Ivorian champions to continue their footballing journey elsewhere.
