Al-Nassr reportedly seeking to offload Sadio Mané amid tensions with Cristiano Ronaldo

Sadio Mané’s future at Al-Nassr appears increasingly uncertain as reports emerge that the Saudi Pro League club is eager to part ways with the Senegalese star just one season after his arrival. Mané, who joined Al-Nassr in 2023, is now said to be out of favor, with tensions between him and Cristiano Ronaldo contributing to the club’s decision.

For weeks, rumors have swirled about Mané’s potential departure, but recent reports from Foot Mercato confirm that Al-Nassr is actively seeking to offload the 32-year-old winger.

The relationship between Mané and Ronaldo, the team’s marquee player, has reportedly deteriorated, leading to a strained atmosphere within the squad.

Ronaldo’s frustration boiled over during Al-Nassr’s 4-1 loss to Al-Hilal in the Saudi Arabian Super Cup final, where the Portuguese forward’s mocking behavior towards his teammates further highlighted the discord.

Mané’s form on the pitch has also come under scrutiny. Positioned as a left winger, he has struggled to make an impact in recent matches.

His lack of involvement in the game against Al-Hilal—where he failed to register a single shot, attempted no dribbles, and won only one out of eight duels—has only fueled criticism from fans and club officials alike.

This decline in performance, especially after a promising start to his tenure at Al-Nassr, is seen as another factor pushing the club to consider his exit.

Despite a promising first season with Al-Nassr, where Mané scored 19 goals and provided 11 assists in 46 appearances across all competitions, his recent struggles have overshadowed his early success.

The former Liverpool star, who was once a key figure in Jurgen Klopp’s title-winning side, now faces an uncertain future as his time in Saudi Arabia seems to be drawing to a close.

A departure from Al-Nassr appears almost inevitable, despite Mané’s contract running until June 2026, with annual earnings of 40 million euros.

According to Foot Mercato, Al-Nassr has already begun exploring potential moves, including offering Mané to Al-Ittihad, another top-tier Saudi club managed by Laurent Blanc.

Al-Ittihad, home to high-profile players such as Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kanté, and Moussa Diaby, has reportedly engaged in preliminary negotiations, although no agreement has been reached.

This development marks a significant shift from just a month ago when rumors of Mané’s departure first surfaced. At the time, Sky Sport Germany suggested a possible return to RB Salzburg, where Mané played from 2012 to 2014.

However, this was quickly dismissed by his agent, Björn Bezemer, who insisted that Mané was focused on his future with Al-Nassr and had no intention of leaving.

“He is preparing for the season with Al-Nassr and has absolutely no intention of leaving. His club is extremely happy with him,” Bezemer stated.

Now, with the situation at Al-Nassr seemingly deteriorating, Mané’s exit looks increasingly likely.

Whether a move to Al-Ittihad or another destination, the Bambaly native will need to find a new club where he can reignite his career and return to the form that once made him one of Europe’s most feared forwards.
