Renowned midfielder Elias El Glaisy bids farewell to Al-Masry SC as Ahly Benghazi emerges as a potential destination.
Al-Masry SC has officially announced the departure of their player, Elias El Glaisy, during the ongoing winter transfer window in January.
While Al-Masry SC did not disclose the player’s next destination, FilGoal.com had earlier reported that Ahly Benghazi had reached an agreement with Al-Masry SC to secure Elias El Glaisy.
Al-Masry SC expressed their sentiments via their official account: “The journey has ended. Thank you, Elias, for your contributions during your time with the Green Eagles.”
FilGoal.com learned that the player has signed a contract extending over two and a half seasons with the Libyan team.
Al-Masry SC finalized the financial agreement with the Libyan club regarding the transfer, and the official announcement is expected to be made in the coming days.
Elias El Glaisy joined Al-Masry SC in 2021 from Tunisia’s Union Sportive Monastirienne (USM), continuing with the Green Eagles for a third consecutive season.
The 29-year-old midfielder has participated in six matches this season, contributing one assist.
El Glaisy has been a crucial element in Al-Masry SC since his arrival, featuring in 82 matches over two seasons and the current one.
He has scored 12 goals and provided 15 assists across various competitions.
Al-Masry SC currently occupies the tenth position in the Egyptian Premier League standings.
