Al-Khor’s Tunisian coach Mehdi Nafti urges must-win mentality ahead of crucial Al-Shamal clash

Mehdi Nafti

Tunisian coach Mehdi Nafti has highlighted the importance of Al-Khor’s upcoming match against Al-Shamal in Matchweek 16 of the Qatar Stars League.

The game will be played on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at the Al-Khwar Stadium.

Speaking at a pre-match press conference, Nafti addressed the team’s precarious position in the league standings, stressing the urgency of securing victories in their remaining fixtures.

“Our current situation is challenging, and we must win every game to turn things around and keep our hopes of survival alive,” he said.

Al-Khor finds itself at the bottom of the league table with only seven points, making Saturday’s clash a critical opportunity to climb out of the relegation zone.

Despite their struggles, Nafti remains optimistic about his team’s potential, commending their dedication and talent.

“The players are giving their all to navigate this tough period. They have a strong spirit and high morale, and they fully understand the responsibility they carry,” he added.

Khaled Radwan, a key player for Al-Khor, echoed his coach’s sentiments, expressing the team’s readiness for the match.

Radwan revealed that the squad has thoroughly analyzed Al-Shamal’s tactics to identify areas where they can capitalize.

“We’ve made noticeable improvements, especially in our attacking play. Now, we need to focus on strengthening our defense to secure the three points,” he said.

The match against Al-Shamal represents a crucial moment for Al-Khor as they aim to revive their season.
