Qatari club Al-Khor have parted ways with Tunisian coach Mehdi Nafti following a string of poor results in the top flight.
The club announced the decision on its official X account, stating that the contract termination was reached through mutual agreement.
Al-Khor also expressed gratitude to Nafti for his time with the team and wished him well in his future endeavors.
Nafti’s departure comes at a challenging time for the club, which has endured a difficult run in the Qatar Stars League.
Al-Khor has managed only seven points from 18 matches, placing them at the bottom of the league table. A series of consecutive losses has left them on the brink of relegation, making survival in the top tier increasingly unlikely.
After securing promotion from the second division last season, Al-Khor had hoped to establish itself in the Qatari top flight.
However, the team has struggled to compete, failing to produce consistent performances or secure enough points to ensure safety.
The club’s struggles have ultimately led to the decision to change its coaching staff in an effort to turn its fortunes around.
With just a few matches remaining in the season, Al-Khor face an uphill battle to avoid relegation.
The team’s immediate focus will be on their upcoming clash against Umm Salal on March 28 in the 19th round of the league.
The club is expected to name an interim coach in the coming days as they look to stabilize the team.
