Al-Ittihad will stage their winter training camp in Marbella, Spain, during the Saudi league’s January break, according to a report by Al-Riyadiya.
The club’s board has settled on the Spanish city as the venue for preparations during the interruption to domestic competition. The break will coincide with Saudi Arabia hosting the 2027 AFC Asian Cup.
Saudi league fixtures will stop after the December rounds, with no matches scheduled throughout January. The competition is due to resume in February because the Asian Cup finals will take place in Saudi Arabia from 7 January to 5 February 2027.
The Marbella camp will be Al-Ittihad’s second visit to the city this season. The Spanish destination also hosted the club’s summer preparations, making it their chosen training base for both camps during the current campaign.
Al-Ittihad suffered their first Saudi league defeat of the season in the eighth round, when they lost to Al-Hilal.
They are fourth in the table with 17 points, four behind leaders Al-Hilal.
Al-Ittihad’s next league match is against Al-Shabab on Friday in the ninth round.
