Al Ittihad Alexandria begin preparations with friendly win over Maliyeh Kafr El Zayat

Al Ittihad Alexandria started their preparations for the new season with a 2-0 friendly victory over Maliyeh Kafr El Zayat on Sunday.

Ahmed Nagy opened the scoring for Al Ittihad Alexandria before John Ebuka added a second goal, securing a comfortable win for Hamza El-Gamal’s side.

The match was part of Al Ittihad Alexandria’s continuing pre-season programme as the club works towards reaching the required technical and physical level before competitive football resumes.

Al Ittihad Alexandria finished last season’s Egyptian league campaign 10th in the relegation-avoidance section, collecting 36 points.

The club have been active in the transfer market as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the new campaign. They have completed 17 signings under manager Hamza El-Gamal.

Among the players brought in are Mido Mostafa from Smouha, Mohamed Fakhry from Pharco, and striker Hossam Hassan from Modern Sport. Khaled Massaad, Abdelrahman Hesham and Ahmed El-Shazly have also joined the club.

Al Ittihad Alexandria have further added Haras El Hodoud right-back Moamen Awad, while Al Ahly defender Moataz Mohamed arrived on a free transfer. The club have also signed Ahmed Hamdy from Zamalek and Ahmed El-Araby from Ghazl El Mahalla.

The Alexandria side strengthened their midfield with the arrival of Uganda international Kenneth Simakula.

The club’s latest deals include goalkeeper Ali El-Gabry from Ceramica Cleopatra on a four-year contract, while midfielder Nour Alaa has joined from the same club on a season-long loan.

Midfielder Mohamed Tony has also moved from Ceramica Cleopatra, signing a three-year contract.

Al Ittihad Alexandria have completed a two-year deal for Smouha midfielder El Habib Ahmed Hassan, while ZED FC defender Islam Abdella has joined on loan for one season with an option for a permanent transfer.

The final addition listed by the club is Bank El Ahly winger Yousry Waheed, who has arrived on a one-year loan.

The victory over Maliyeh Kafr El Zayat gives Al Ittihad Alexandria an early positive result as they continue their build-up to the new season. The club’s remaining pre-season work is focused on improving both fitness and tactical readiness after a campaign in which they finished in the lower section of the Egyptian league standings.
