In a stirring display of unity, Al Hilal fans from Sudan brought a touching gesture to Cairo Stadium ahead of Tuesday evening’s CAF Champions League quarterfinal first leg against Egypt’s Al Ahly.
The Sudanese supporters, arriving early to rally behind their squad, unfurled a banner that simply read, “Thank you, Egypt,” a nod of gratitude to their hosts. Meanwhile, thousands of Al Ahly fans filled the stands from the morning, their cheers for the Red Devils echoing through the arena.
In a warm reply, the Egyptian crowd chanted, “Egypt and Sudan… one hand,” bridging the two nations in song. Al Hilal, who led Group A, face a tough test against Al Ahly, the Group C runners-up.
The Cairo giants will lean on their boisterous home support to tilt the tie in their favor.
With both sets of fans setting a spirited tone, the stage is ready for an intense showdown between these African football powerhouses.
