Al-Eisa sets early scoring pace as Al-Nassr and Al-Faisaly shine in Jowy League

Mohammed Al-Eisa continued his outstanding start to the Jowy Elite League Under-21 season by scoring again for Al-Ettifaq, while Al-Nassr produced one of the strongest performances of the second round.

A total of 11 matches were played, with 26 goals scored at an average of around 2.4 per game. The results also offered early evidence of an increasingly competitive race for the league’s top-scorer award, with several young players making a strong impression.

Al-Eisa was the leading individual performer after finding the net in Al-Ettifaq’s 2-0 victory over Damac. The striker has now scored five goals and sits at the top of the scoring charts, having opened the campaign with a remarkable four-goal haul in the first round.

Al-Faisaly also maintained their impressive form with a convincing 3-0 win against Al-Okhdood. Daiou Osho was central to the victory, scoring twice as his side secured another league success and strengthened his growing reputation as one of the competition’s notable young talents.

Al-Nassr delivered one of the round’s most emphatic displays as they swept aside Al-Jabalain 4-0. Saad Haqawi scored twice, while Turki Al-Ghamil found the net for the second consecutive round to underline his strong attacking start for the club.

Defensive performances were another feature of the round, with eight clubs keeping clean sheets. Al-Faisaly shut out Al-Okhdood, while Al-Fayha did so against Al-Ansar. Al-Ittihad kept a clean sheet against Al-Tadhamon, and Al-Hilal prevented Al-Kholood from scoring. Al-Ettifaq, Al-Taawoun, Al-Nassr and Al-Khaleej also recorded shutouts against Damac, Al-Orobah, Al-Jabalain and Al-Wehda respectively.

The figures suggested a balance between attacking quality and defensive organisation. Several teams managed both to score and prevent their opponents from finding the net, giving them an encouraging platform at this early stage of the competition.

Al-Nassr and Al-Riyadh were among the round’s highest-scoring teams, with each credited with four goals in the competition’s statistics. Al-Nassr’s total came in their 4-0 victory over Al-Jabalain, while Al-Riyadh defeated Al-Qadsiah 3-1. Al-Faisaly scored three times in their win over Al-Okhdood.

Elsewhere, Al-Ahli beat Al-Fateh 2-1 and Al-Taawoun defeated Al-Orobah 1-0. Al-Najma and Neom drew 1-1, while Al-Ittihad overcame Al-Tadhamon, Al-Hilal beat Al-Kholood, Al-Ettifaq defeated Damac, Al-Fayha won against Al-Ansar and Al-Khaleej defeated Al-Wehda.

The second round produced 10 victories and only one draw. The meeting between Al-Hazem and Al-Watan was postponed and will be rearranged at a later date.

The scoring race is now led by Al-Eisa on five goals, with Osho, Haqawi and Al-Ghamil among the other young players to have caught the eye. The early action has highlighted the depth of emerging talent in the second edition of the Jowy Elite League, with a number of players showing the potential to contribute to the future of Saudi Arabian football.
