Al-Anwar bring in Algeria centre-back Chamseddine Derradji from CS Constantine

Algeria defender Chamseddine Derradji has joined Saudi First Division League side Al-Anwar from CS Constantine on a free transfer. The 34-year-old centre-back has signed a contract running until 30 June 2027.

Derradji’s move was completed on 12 August, bringing an end to his six-year spell with CS Constantine. He joined the Algerian club from NC Magra in September 2020 and now begins a new chapter in Saudi Arabia with Al-Anwar.

The Dellys-born defender arrives with extensive experience in Algeria’s top flight, having made 131 Ligue 1 appearances during his career. He has also featured in the Coupe d’Algerie, the Coupe de la Ligue d’Algerie and African club competitions, including the CAF Confederation Cup.

Derradji played a central role in defence throughout his domestic career, with his senior pathway also including spells at RC Relizane and IB Lakhdaria before his move to NC Magra. His departure from CS Constantine represents his first transfer outside Algeria.

Al-Anwar compete in the Saudi First Division League, and Derradji’s arrival gives the club an experienced central defender with a substantial record in Algerian football. He joins the club as a free agent, with his previous contract at CS Constantine having come to an end before the switch.

The transfer also marks a change of league and country for Derradji after more than a decade of senior football in Algeria. His career record includes one Ligue 1 goal and two assists, alongside appearances in domestic cup competitions and continental tournaments.

Derradji has now formally become an Al-Anwar player on a deal that runs through the end of June 2027.
