The board of directors of Al Ahly, led by Mahmoud Al-Khatib, will be visiting Zamalek today, Monday, in response to an invitation from the Zamalek board led by Hussein Labib.
This visit serves to solidify the relationship characterized by mutual respect between Al Ahly and Zamalek.
The official Al Ahly website revealed that Al-Khatib will be present at the White Castle’s headquarters this afternoon.
It is expected that the meeting between Labib and Al-Khatib will address several important issues, with “Al-Masry Al-Youm” shedding light on the most prominent ones:
Mahmoud Kahraba’s Fine
Although the official statement from Al Ahly did not mention Mahmoud Kahraba’s fine, it is likely to be discussed by Mahmoud Al-Khatib with Hussein Labib to reach a solution satisfactory to all parties involved.
Mahmoud Kahraba is required to pay $2 million to settle his dispute, coinciding with the firm rejection from Zamalek’s board regarding the idea of installment payments.
However, it is unclear if Al-Khatib will discuss a resolution that would facilitate the player’s payment of the fine.
Transfer Market Competition
The file of competition in the transfer market during the upcoming transfer periods is expected to be discussed, as has been the case in the past.
For example, Zamalek’s management entered negotiations with the player Omar Kamal Abdelwahed, whom officials from the Red Castle succeeded in signing in January.
A similar situation occurred with Marwan Attia, a former player for Al Ittihad Alexandria, and Mohamed Shokry, a current player for Ceramica Cleopatra.
Broadcast Rights for the Egypt Cup Final
The Egyptian Football Association has announced the staging of the Egypt Cup final between Al Ahly and Zamalek for the 2022-2023 season in Saudi Arabia in March.
The Football Association will receive $2 million in exchange for agreeing to hold the highly anticipated match in the Kingdom.
It is expected that the discussion on the broadcast rights for the match will take place between Al-Khatib and Labib, as both Al Ahly and Zamalek aim to secure a larger return than originally agreed upon, especially after the match is held in Saudi Arabia.
