Al Ahly's Mahmoud El Khatib flies to UAE for another honor

Mahmoud El Khatib, the President of Al Ahly Sporting Club, departed from Cairo to the United Arab Emirates to attend the Globe Soccer Awards for the best in the world in 2023.

El Khatib’s journey to the UAE is in anticipation of receiving an award recognizing Al Ahly as the best club in the Middle East.

The accolade comes after stiff competition with Saudi football giants, Al Hilal and Al Nassr.

Al Ahly secured the title of the best club in the Middle East in the Globe Soccer poll, surpassing several prominent football clubs.

Notably, they outperformed Saudi’s Al Nassr, which boasts the global star Cristiano Ronaldo among its ranks.

The votes tallied, placing Al Ahly at the forefront with an impressive 42% of the total votes.

Following closely, Al Nassr claimed the second position with a 33% share.

Al Hilal, another Saudi powerhouse, secured the third spot, while Emirati club Shabab Al Ahli rounded off the top four.

The journey to the Globe Soccer Awards signifies another milestone for Al Ahly and its esteemed President.

El Khatib’s presence at the event highlights the global recognition that Al Ahly continues to receive for its remarkable achievements in the world of football.

The competition among these football giants in the Middle East adds an extra layer of prestige to the acknowledgment of Al Ahly’s excellence.

The honor further solidifies Al Ahly’s stature as a football powerhouse, not only within the Egyptian league but also on the international stage.

As El Khatib represents the club at this prestigious event, it marks another chapter in Al Ahly’s storied legacy, showcasing the club’s commitment to excellence and its enduring impact on the football world.
