Al Ahly Women sealed a landmark victory in their debut season, clinching the Egyptian Women’s Cup for the very first time with a hard-fought 1–0 win over Wadi Degla in a gripping final at Hassan El Shazly Stadium.
After a quiet first half where both sides struggled to break the deadlock, Al Ahly stepped up their game in the second half, pressing harder and creating more chances. Rodina Abdel Rasool came close to scoring with a clever solo run, but her shot drifted just wide of the post.
Wadi Degla nearly turned the game around in the 83rd minute when Manar El Sayed found herself one-on-one with the keeper but missed the target.
The decisive moment arrived deep in extra time. Substitute Ashraq Adel, set up brilliantly by Palestinian teammate Lulu Nasr, broke the deadlock with a stunning left-footed finish.
This win marks a special milestone for Al Ahly’s newly-formed women’s team, meeting CAF standards while writing history of their own.
The final drew high-profile figures from the Egyptian Football Federation and national team staff.
