Egyptian giants Al Ahly have decided to make the trip to the USA on June 4 to finalise preparations for the start of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
The record CAF Champions League winners are one of the four countries that will be representing Africa at this year’s expanded Club World Cup.
In an official statement released on Tuesday evening, Al Ahly confirmed the travel arrangements for their training camp in the U.S. as part of their final preparations for the tournament, which runs from June 14 to July 13.
The club’s board of directors, led by president Mahmoud El-Khatib, reviewed and approved the travel and camp plans during a meeting earlier in the day.
The training camp is being organised in collaboration with United Sports Marketing Company, which holds the rights to the pre-tournament arrangements.
El-Khatib is set to lead the team’s delegation when they leave for the United States. The squad will spend the final phase of their preparation there before kicking off their Club World Cup campaign.
Al Ahly has been drawn into Group A, where they will face tough opposition from Brazilian side Palmeiras, Portuguese giants FC Porto, and MLS outfit Inter Miami.
Al Ahly will begin their group stage journey on June 14 with a high-profile clash against Inter Miami.
