Al Ahly is set to face severe consequences following its absence from the highly anticipated summit match against Zamalek in the Egyptian Premier League’s coronation stage.
Reliable sources indicate that the Club Association will soon confirm Al Ahly as the losing side, with an additional three-point deduction at the end of the season.
Despite Al Ahly’s threats to challenge the league’s legality, a source within the Club Association has dismissed such claims, stating that all clubs, including Al Ahly, had previously authorized the League Council, led by Ahmed Diab, to manage the competition.
“The mandate given by all clubs, including Al Ahly, prevents any dispute over the legitimacy of the current Association Council,” the source told Kooora.
The Club Association is expected to make an official announcement in the coming hours, solidifying the decision that could impact the title race.
With tensions rising, the ruling will not only affect Al Ahly’s campaign but also reinforce the authority of the league’s governing body.
