The first football team of Al Ahly Club is set to face a formidable challenge in their upcoming match against CR Belouizdad from Algeria, as they will have to navigate the game without 11 of their key players.
Al Ahly is scheduled to play against CR Belouizdad on Friday in a postponed match of the fourth round of the group stage of the CAF Champions League.
It has been confirmed that 11 players will be absent from Al Ahly’s lineup against CR Belouizdad due to injuries and lack of readiness, leaving the Red Devils without a complete team for this demanding encounter against the Algerian champions.
Among the absentees is Al Ahly’s regular goalkeeper and captain, Mohamed El Shenawy, who is sidelined due to a severe shoulder injury that will keep him out of action for approximately three months.
Additionally, the newly acquired goalkeeper, Mohamed El Zanfaly, will also be unavailable as he was not registered for African competitions after joining Al Ahly following the closure of the winter transfer window in CAF.
In defense, Al Ahly will miss Mohamed Hani due to an ongoing injury, while Khalid Abdul Fattah is sidelined with a foot ligament injury.
The new right-back, Omar Kamal Abdul Wahed, is ineligible to participate after already featuring in the same season with another team in the CAF Confederation Cup.
In midfield, Al Ahly will be without a significant number of players, including Aliou Dieng, Ahmed Nabil Kouka, and Mohammed El Dawi Cristo, all sidelined due to injuries.
Ahmed Abdel Kader continues to be absent due to incomplete recovery from injury.
In the attacking line, both Wisam Abu Ali and Percy Tau will be absent due to a muscle injury and lack of readiness, respectively.
The absence of these key players presents a considerable challenge for Al Ahly, but the team remains determined to face the adversity and secure a positive result in this crucial match.
