Egyptian midfielder Emam Ashour has left Al Ahly’s camp in the United States of America en route to Cairo.
The highly-rated player was part of the Al Ahly squad that travelled to USA for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
He started the opening Group A match against Inter Miami but unfortunately suffered a broken collarbone injury in the first half.
He subsequently underwent a successful surgery at a hospital in the United States.
On Saturday, Emam Ashour left the Al-Ahly delegation’s hotel in New Jersey, returning to Cairo after receiving medical advice on the progress of his surgery
Al Ahly is preparing to face Porto in the third round of Group A of the Club World Cup, scheduled for 4:00 AM Cairo time next Tuesday at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
Al Ahly are on one point in Group A after drawing Inter Miami and losing 2-0 to Palmeiras.
The Egyptian and African giants need to beat FC Porto in their last group game to stand the chance of advancing to the knockout stage of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
The match against FC Porto will be plated on Tuesday, June 24.
