The second half saw heavy pressure from Al Ahly. Wissam Abu Ali came off the bench to threaten early, while both teams made several changes to tip the balance. National Bank held firm until deep into stoppage time.
Then, in the 96th minute, Palestinian forward Wissam Abu Ali pounced to net a dramatic winner, sparking wild celebrations.
Al Ahly now lead the crowning group standings with 55 points, two ahead of Pyramids FC with just one round left. Their superior goal difference means even a draw could secure the title.
National Bank, led by coach Tarek Mostafa, sit fourth with 37 points after a tough contest.
