Al Ahly have firmly denied claims that midfielder Imam Ashour has received a transfer offer from Saudi Arabia.
A club source told Kooora that no official communication has been made by any Saudi club regarding the star player.
“Whoever has an official offer, let him produce the document, we are not just talking about rumours,” the source said.
Al Ahly are currently focused on a crucial match against Fargo. A win would seal their league title before they head to the United States next month for the FIFA Club World Cup.
“Imam Ashour is the best player in the Egyptian league in the current season, a player who is not debatable or controversial and we know his value and it is normal for him to receive offers, but so far nothing has happened,” the source continued.
He added that Al Ahly have paused all transfer discussions until after the Club World Cup. “This matter is not debatable as Al Ahly wants to achieve something good in the Club World Cup,” he emphasized.
